Norton Land Design understands the difference between doing a project by the book and doing it well. An in-depth knowledge of local and regional regulations and an unmatched attention to detail allows Norton to meet regulated standards and ensure prompt permitting. This regulatory familiarity enables Norton to go beyond merely ensuring that projects conform to policy and to focus on meeting functional requirements.

Whether it’s local regulations or LEED certification, Norton’s experience will enable the requirements to be met, if not surpassed. Norton has a reputation for being able to get complicated projects permitted, including those in the Chesapeake Bay Critical Areas and those with natural and/or historic resource permitting. Norton is known for being able to successfully work through presentations and negotiations with regulatory agencies.

“Regulations are like rocks. In design, you work with and around the rocks, integrate them into your vision, and let them seamlessly become a component of the final result. Working with regulations is no different—you have to not just accept them but leverage them to develop the best result.”

“Norton Land Design understands how to satisfy requirements. They approach it differently.” - Ed Snider, Snider Associates Surveyors
